じゃこ天を紹介していたら、どうしても揚げたてが食べたくなったので、先日で出かけて参りました。

じゃこ天、この本場は宇和島という所なのです。
これだけ皆様におススメするからには、自分自身の舌でその美味しさを再度確認しなくては！
という強い使命感から、ドライブ日和の先日、揚げたてのじゃこ天を求めて宇和島へ行ってまいりました。

宇和島はここ松山から約１００ｋｍ、高速で１時間半程走れば到着です。

せっかくここまで足を伸ばしたのだから美味しいといわれているおすすめの店のものを食べねば！
と、名前の通っている○○商店を探し当てて、さて揚げたてを、と見てみると
どうもそんな雰囲気ではありません。

店の人に「揚げたてはないんですか？」と聞くと、
「ウチは製造元か
ら出来たてを運んできているので、ここでは揚げてません。」とキッパリ。
ショック！！

そういえばショーケースの中には数種類のじゃこ天がきちっときれいに並べられていますが
揚げている様子はありません。お土産、贈答用なら見栄えもしてこれでいいのですが、
その時は車の中でおやつがわりに食べたい気分だったのです。

そもそもこのじゃこ天はちゃんと食卓に鎮座ましたのを食事としていただくより、
ドライブ途中に揚げたてをアヂアヂ（熱い熱い）とつまむ方が美味しいのです。

ですので、ここまで来て揚げたてを食べないというのも悔しいので、
揚げたてがないのだったらまっぴらごめんなすって、と店を出て他を探すことに。

しかしまた同じ事になってもいけないので、車で休憩中のタクシーの運転手さんに
「ここらへんで揚げたてのじゃこ天売っているとこないですか？」と尋ねると
「それじゃったら」とわざわざ車をおりて小走りでその店の場所を案内してくれました。

運転手さんいわく自分も好きなので、「ほかから来た人にはぜひウマいやつを食べてもらわんとイケン」、ということでのお勧めでした。

ではさっそく揚げたてをいただきます！

アヂアヂのうまうま、新鮮な魚の美味さがしっかりとじこめられたぷりぷりと
弾力のある中身、揚げたてならでは香ばしくしっかりとした歯ごたえがうれしい
濃いめのきつね色の皮が絶妙の逸品でした。

宇和島のじゃこ天は中途半端な甘味がなく、海を感じさせるほのかな塩味が感じられ、
醤油がなくともそのままイケてしまいます。

車の中で一気に４枚も食べてしまいました。
かなり満腹！

運転手さん、ありがとうございました。あなたは立派なコンシェルジェです。
「食べてもらわんとイケン」
この気持ちはおもてなしの基本ですね。

ちなみにタクシーの運転手さんに案内していただいたお店は
なにをかくそう150年の歴史を誇る真面目な老舗でした。
